Working with state tourism leaders, made the case for the value of increased marketing that led the governor to provide $12 million in additional funding for tourism promotion over the next two years, despite facing budget pressures.

A continuing effort with a prominent Convention and Visitors Bureau to communicate the value of tourism to the local community laid the foundation for approval by the City Council of a $180 million expansion to the convention center.
